Our summer camps are loosely organized to keep the kids entertained and learning while also allowing them to influence what we do day to day. From voting on favorite games to helping their counselors plan and decorate for the end of the week performance, our campers will come home from the studio tired from fun and not burned out on hyper-structured and overpacked schedules.
Kids will do activities within their age group and together with all the campers. We encourage the older campers to take leadership roles within the camp and help their peers and the younger campers when needed.
Typically we do one craft a day, though not all of them are meant to come home like nametags for cubbies and show decorations. There will often be one particularly special craft that emphasizes the theme of the week and sometimes we offer different crafts to different age groups.
If your camper has any food allergies or problems finishing meals please let us know ahead of time. We typically encourage kids to finish their lunches (camp games can be a motivator for not eating as much as they should!) so please pack with that in mind - Some parents pack tons to make sure kids don't go hungry which is great! I recommend making sure they understand what is "lunch" and what is "extra" so they can communicate with us effectively. No nuts allowed in the studio at any time. Please try and pack healthy lunches to keep energy levels high, but know that we are careful about how we address food in the studio so as to not encourage disordered eating or unhealthy concepts of food being "good" or "bad".
The special feature mentioned on the daily schedule will change from day to day and will be relevant to the camp theme. Example: Watching a clip from a movie/show/musical/documentary, reading a book together, doing an experiment, etc.
Before and after care mostly consist of free play which may include watching a movie to wind down, playing board games, coloring, setting up obstacle courses together, running their own games etc. Basically unstructured time that is monitored.
Our performance is on Friday at 3:00pm every camp, usually made up of multiple dances and sometimes gymnastics exhibits, acting skits, or improv games. Expect it to take about 30 minutes total with the performance itself closer to 15.

We will be requiring masks for all school aged children (5+) unless they are vaccinated. This means most of the kiddos will need masks, but we won't require them for ages 3-4 and allow parents to make that choice because:
No nuts allowed at the studio at any time. Check your food products just in case before packing.
Campers should stay home if exhibiting any symptoms or complaining they feel sick, they can make that day up in another camp.
In case of serious accidents or illnesses we call 911 first and parents immediately afterwards/during to update.
What to Wear
Dancers should wear close toed shoes and comfortable active wear. Masks should fit securely and be clean at the start of the day. We recommend packing extras in case a mask is soiled. Hair should be worn out of the face in a secure style. We do not recommend dance clothes (leotards) but they may wear them if they demand it.
