Offering Summer Classes and Camps
Children's Recreational Classes: Our children's program balances fun and skill achievement with teachers who really care for their students growth and happiness in the class. We work with kids of all abilities and ages on dance skills, fitness, and classroom behavior.
Adult Recreational Classes: Adult classes are offered based on interest and demand primarily geared towards those looking to learn the basics of dance, rekindle their love of dance recreationally, or add constructive fitness to their routine.
All new students are invited to register as a free trial lesson for their first class.
Fall/Spring Program
Registration has opened for the Fall 2022 - Spring 2023 Session.
Our regular recreational program runs in tandem with the school year from September 6th until the end of May and usually wraps up the year with a recital in late May or early June.
Our Parent & Me class is all about introducing little ones to the world of dance in a way that feels comfortable! Parent and child duos will learn basic ballet and gymnastics skills together as well as play silly games and learn to feel comfortable in dance clothes, the dance room, and with their (hopefully) future dance teachers. Parent & Me classes are recommended for children too young to join a regular dance class or children with separation anxiety/nerves. Masks are required for adults and required for children 2 and up.
Ballet and Tumble classes are non-performing classes that focus on early motor skill development and bringing the joy of dance to young children. They have adorable and simple sets of ballet and tumbling skills that are learned throughout the year and demonstrated at the end of each semester. These classes are fun and easygoing, filled with games and tutus! These classes will require ballet shoes and active wear. Masks are required.
Ballet, Tap, & Tumble classes bring the perfect combination of dancing basics to young children. Some classes will be performing if the age range specifies age 4 and higher. As the dancers get older, the BTT combo classes become more technical and focused on skills and stage presence, but with an element of that fun that children always need! These classes will require ballet and tap shoes as well as active wear. Masks are required.
Ballet, Tap, and Jazz is a technique focused pre-intermediate dance class for young dancers who are serious about learning to express themselves through dance. These classes are performing classes, and tend to dedicate a portion of each class on learning and perfecting their routines. BTJ combo classes are great precursors to continuing a students dance career with JWSD, and are highly recommended for any child 6 and older. Masks are required.
Want a more serious commitment for your dancer? Look into our Sparks program.
Hip Hop classes are fun and free-form, but with the technical base that makes a strong dancer. The class will focus on rhythm, body language, and using their full physicality. These classes will perform in the recital. Dancers wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Masks are required.
Gymnastics classes are focused on developing standard tumbling skills as well as modified tumbling skills for dancers. There is a focus on stretching, gross motor-skill development, and conditioning. This class high energy and a lot of fun! Basic tumbling skills include rolls, cartwheels, handstands, round -offs, back-bends and more. Dancers will take class bare-footed and in athletic wear. Equipment may include flat mats, floor beams, and/or wedge mats.
We offer a variety of adult classes depending on demand, so feel free to reach out about what kind of class you're looking for!
